Honey Ritual is a participating brand under UKF™ — the Unique Kelulut Factor.
UKF is the science-backed grading standard for Malaysian stingless bee honey, developed with university and accredited-laboratory involvement. It does for kelulut what UMF does for Manuka: it gives a buyer a number to compare, and it puts the grading in the hands of someone other than the person selling the honey.
Why it matters
Premium kelulut commands the highest price in the honey category, which makes it one of the most faked. "Pure" and "raw" are words anyone can print on a label. A grade issued by an independent certifying body is not.
How our batches are graded
- A representative sample from each harvest goes to an accredited independent laboratory.
- The sample is analysed for trehalulose by HPLC, antioxidant activity by DPPH assay, and compliance with MS 2683.
- The results are assessed against the UKF scheme rules — by the certifying body, not by us.
- Only after the results return does the batch get filled, labelled with its own lot code, and released carrying the UKF mark.
Hive to shelf
Four steps, in this order, every batch. No step is skipped when supply is tight.
- Harvest. Honey is drawn from resin pots once a year, at the rhythm of the farm rather than the demands of a sales forecast. Each harvest is kept separate.
- Handle. Unheated and unfiltered. The honey is not pasteurised, blended across farms, or treated to force a uniform colour and taste.
- Test. A representative sample goes to an accredited independent laboratory for trehalulose, antioxidant activity and MS 2683 compliance.
- Seal & code. The batch is filled, labelled with its lot code, and released carrying the UKF mark.
